Football Recap: Conway Springs Starts off Right with Win over Nickerson

Conway Springs had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Nickerson Panthers by a score of 28-20 on Friday. The Cardinals' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Conway Springs' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Osner, who rushed for 192 yards and two TDs while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also caught one score. Those 192 rushing yards gave Osner a new career-high. Eli Benge was another key rusher, rushing for 148 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.2 yards per carry.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conway Springs will square off against Garden Plain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Nickerson, they will take on Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Panthers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
