Volleyball Recap: Ipswich Comes Up Short

Ipswich was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Newburyport Clippers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Clippers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

Amani Makuwa paced Ipswich's offense, picking up five kills. Makuwa got some help from Emma Eliot and her nine assists. Becca Cody controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Ipswich's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Newburyport, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Ipswich has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Hamilton-Wenham Regional on the 20th. As for Newburyport, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Andover on the 20th.
