Softball Game Preview: Fort Dodge Dodgers vs. Ames Little Cyclones

Fort Dodge and Ames are an even 5-5 against one another since June of 2023, but likely not for long. The Dodgers will head out to face off against the Little Cyclones at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fort Dodge's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Saturday's struggle, when Johnston hitters got past them. The Dodgers lost 11-3 to the Dragons on Saturday. The Dodgers have struggled against the Dragons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Ames' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against Northwest, falling 8-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Little Cyclones have suffered since June 6th.

Ames' defeat dropped their record down to 22-9. As for Fort Dodge, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 22-9.
