Baseball Game Preview: Hearts Academy Panthers vs. CrossPointe Christian Academy Cavaliers

The Hearts Academy Panthers will challenge the CrossPointe Christian Academy Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

After dropping their season opener at home, CrossPointe Christian Academy is headed out to face a Panthers team ready to give their home crowd a win. Hearts Academy fell 8-4 to Cornerstone Prep Academy on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with Cornerstone Prep Academy: they've now lost three in a row.

Jameson Wood made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Rylee Mobley, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, CrossPointe Christian Academy had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against Lafayette Christian, falling 16-9. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it nine in a row.

Harrison Wilkes was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
