Soccer Game Preview: Lincoln vs. Mission

The Lincoln Mustangs will head out to challenge the Mission Bears at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Lincoln is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Lowell on Wednesday. The Mustangs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals.

Lincoln's goal came courtesy of Katherine Alvarado, who's now up to nine this season.

Meanwhile, Mission lost 5-1 to Balboa on Wednesday. Mission have struggled against Balboa recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Mission, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Lincoln got the 'W' when the teams last played two weeks ago against Mission by a conclusive 9-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
