League recap: Evans rises, Lakeside falls in league standings

2A-AAAAA league recap: 3/8/13

Evans made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from fourth to second place in 2A-AAAAA thanks to a 2-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Lakeside fell hardest in the standings, dropping from first all the way to third place after going 1-0 in the past week. Grovetown (1-0) is now in first place.

Greenbrier outpaced the rest of the league this week, as its two total wins led the league. The Wolfpack beat Westside 12-1 and South Effingham 6-2.

The Knights' pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only five hits and five walks, both of which led the league.

Kyle Anderson led Evans to a win on February 27, as he notched ten strikeouts to beat Thomson, 9-0. Over five innings of work, he gave up two hits and zero runs.
