It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Verdugo Hills had no problem doing just that on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Canoga Park Hunters 1-0. The Dons' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Paola Moreno, who's now up to nine this season.

Verdugo Hills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 37 goals over those 12 games. Canoga Park's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
