Football Game Preview: St. Anthony's Friars vs. Iona Prep Gaels

The St. Anthony's Friars will square off against the Iona Prep Gaels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

St. Anthony's is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New York's top teams: Monsignor Farrell, who was ranked sixth at the time (St. Anthony's was ranked fourth). The Friars were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 21-20 to the Lions. Surprisingly, this marked the Friars' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, Iona Prep strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cardinal Hayes 42-14. The Gaels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 28 points or more this season.

Iona Prep had a senior duo take command as Julian Guzman threw for 121 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes and Crew Davis gained 97 total yards and a touchdown.

St. Anthony's now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Iona Prep, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
