The Iona Prep Gaels football squad scored 50 points and limited the host St. Anthony's Friars to 36 in the Gaels league triumph on Friday.

The Gaels now sport a 5-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Chaminade for a Catholic AAA test on Saturday, October 11. Iona Prep will clash with a Flyers squad coming off a 45-22 non-league win over St. Francis Prep (Fresh Meadows, NY). The Flyers record now stands at 4-2.

With the defeat, St. Anthony's drops to 2-4 on the campaign. The Friars host Cardinal Hayes (Bronx, NY) to clash with the Cardinals in a Catholic AAA outing on Friday, October 10. The Cardinals come into the outing with a record of 1-3. Cardinal Hayes lost 14-6 in their recent league outing against Archbishop Stepinac (White Plains, NY)
