Baseball Game Preview: Miami Trace Panthers vs. Warren Warriors

Miami Trace is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Warren is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Panthers will be taking part in a tournament against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Miami Trace 3.5, Warren 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Miami Trace's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Zane Trace.

Not much got past Gavyn Maynard, who gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks to keep Zane Trace off the board. Maynard has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Austin T Brown was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Warren and Athens meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Warriors fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Warriors couldn't push the score so high this time.

Warren now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Miami Trace, their win bumped their record up to 18-4-1.
