Softball Game Preview: Riceville Wildcats vs. Clarksville Indians

Riceville hasn't had much luck against Clarksville recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Wildcats will square off against the Indians. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Riceville took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over North Iowa. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Clarksville waltzed into their match on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Wildcats. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 16 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Clarksville pushed their record up to 27-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Riceville, their win bumped their record up to 19-13.

Riceville came up short against Clarksville in their previous meeting back in June, falling 9-6. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
