Baseball Recap: Sherwood Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Sherwood's offense. They fell just short of the McMinnville Grizzlies by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

James Thorne was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April.

Sherwood's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-8-1. As for McMinnville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-14.
