Basketball Recap: Leroy Greene Academy Comes Up Short

Leroy Greene Academy lost against Delta back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Leroy Greene Academy Lions fell just short of the Delta Saints by a score of 32-30.

Despite the defeat, Leroy Greene Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Anaya Alston dropped a double-double with 20 points and 19 rebounds. That was a full 66.7% of Leroy Greene Academy's points, marking the 17th time in a row Alston has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazelle Moore, who had two points and 13 boards.

Leading Delta to victory were Ayren Rapp and Harlie Johnson. Rapp dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Johnson scored eight points along with ten boards and four blocks. Rapp is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed five or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

Leroy Greene Academy now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Delta, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-7.

Leroy Greene Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Delta, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-18 win against Westlake Charter on the 14th.
