            Softball Recap: Omaha Westside Warriors vs. Bellevue East Chieftains        
        
		
        
        
            Omaha Westside extended their losing streak  to three  on Wednesday, dropping them down to 6-3. They were a single  run away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bellevue East Chieftains. The Warriors were not able to make up for their  loss to the Chieftains from their previous meeting  back in September of 2024.
  Baylee Heffernan was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 1-for-3 with one  home run and three  RBI.  Ruby Mann was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run.
As for Bellevue East, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-5. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.
On Bellevue East's side,  Alisha Mcmurtry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. Mcmurtry has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks any time she's  pitched this season.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Audrina Urwin, who  went 3-for-4 with one  home run and four  RBI. Those  three  hits gave  her a new career-high.  Lilly Anderson also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
 Looking ahead, Omaha Westside will venture away from home to  square off against Papillion-LaVista South  at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 7.4  runs per game this season. As for Bellevue East, they will square off against Millard South at 1:30  p.m.  on Friday.
