Soccer Recap: West Valley Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact West Valley can now relate to. They fell 2-0 to the Live Oak Lions on Saturday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Eagles haven't been shut out since back in December of 2024.

The defeat snapped West Valley's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-7 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Live Oak, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-7.

While West Valley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
