Football Game Preview: Tescott Trojans vs. Cunningham Wildcats

Tescott is 0-5 against Cunningham since September of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Tescott's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Chase as they made off with a 21-0 victory. Those 21 points were actually the fewest the Trojans have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Meanwhile, Cunningham entered their tilt with Argonia/Attica on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They claimed a resounding 62-14 win over the Titans. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.

Tescott better keep an eye on Stephen Kerschen. He was instrumental in Cunningham's win, rushing for 306 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.6 yards per carry. Those 306 rushing yards gave Kerschen a new career-high. Skyler Thimesch was another key player, rushing for 75 yards and three TDs.

Cunningham's run defense was locked in: Argonia/Attica could only muster 1.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Dylan Halderson for the heroic effort on defense: he. Cunningham didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.6.

Cunningham didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Logan Kinsler and Liam McGuire. Kinsler got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Tescott's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Cunningham, their win bumped their record up to an identical 6-1.

Tescott was dealt a bruising 54-8 defeat at the hands of Cunningham when the teams last played back in November of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Trojans were down 40-8.
