Football Recap: Walker Valley Find Success + How To Watch

Walker Valley hadn't done well against McMinn County recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Mustangs came out on top against the Cherokees by a score of 54-42. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 37-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Chase Stephens had an outrageously good game as he threw for 488 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 52 yards. Walker Valley's leading receiver Sawyer Boyd was Stephens' top target yet again, picking up 173 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Despite the loss, McMinn County still got an impressive performance from Jakaryn Dyer, who rushed for 164 yards and three TDs while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Luke Lawson was another key player, having thrown for 313 yards and two touchdowns.
