Basketball Recap: Sanger Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

There's no place like home for Sanger, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Ridgeview Wolf Pack by a score of 54-46 on Tuesday. For the Apaches, this counts as revenge for the 54-33 victory the Wolf Pack walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2018.

Sanger was led to victory by Sofia Aguilar and Lucy Takeda. Aguilar went 8 of 18 on her way to 20 points and six steals, while Takeda posted 14 points and six steals. The contest was Aguilar's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Briana Alday, who had four points.

Sanger's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Ridgeview, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Sanger wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 81-28 defeat against Bullard on the 9th. As for Ridgeview, they will welcome Independence at 6:30 p.m. on January 14th. That contest will pit two of the most dominant forwards against one another: Aubrey Aldan and Kenadi Walton.
