Football Recap: Trego Piles Up the Points Against Ness City

It was a Battle of the Birds when Trego took on Ness City on Friday. The Golden Eagles simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 52-6. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Trego's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Conness led the charge by rushing for 151 yards and two scores on only 15 carries. Conness is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Another signal caller making a difference was Ashton Wynn, who threw for 59 yards and three TDs while completing 88.9% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Trego was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 224 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 178 rushing yards in five consecutive games.

Trego's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Ness City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trego will take on LaCrosse at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles will be up against the Leopards' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Ness City, they will challenge Ellis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
