Basketball Recap: Vintage Drops Season-High Score on Gateway

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vintage). They put the hurt on the Gateway Gators with a sharp 58-36 win on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Crushers have posted since January 12th.

Vintage found their leader in freshman Ashley Gerenser, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards set a new season-high mark for Gerenser. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Perez, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 12 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Vintage was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Vintage and bumps their season record up to 3-8. As for Gateway, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Vintage wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 49-35 victory against Livermore on the 28th. As for Gateway, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-27 win against Redwood Christian on the 28th.
