Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northgate). Their defense stepped up to hand the Brookstone Cougars a 9-0 shutout on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Northgate's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Brookstone, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Northgate will head out to face off against Langston Hughes at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northgate will be up against Langston Hughes' rather soft defense (which has allowed six goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Brookstone, they will take on Calvary Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Brookstone has given up an average of 3.5 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
