Ord is 2-8 against Twin River since August of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Chanticleers will host the Titans at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Ord put up the most runs they have all season on Saturday. They blew past Polk County 21-12. The win was some much needed relief for the Chanticleers as it spelled an end to their ten-game losing streak.
Elle Jess was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in August. Payton Whited was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Ord hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Twin River was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Paul on Thursday, taking the game 10-5.
Laynie Allen looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on JLee Van Driel, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last 13 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Briley Dohmen, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Twin River's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Ord, their victory bumped their record up to 6-22.
