Basketball Game Preview: Penn-Trafford Warriors vs. Plum Mustangs

The Penn-Trafford Warriors will challenge the Plum Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Penn-Trafford is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Penn-Trafford is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing West Mifflin: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Penn-Trafford blew West Mifflin out of the water with a 56-25 final score. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 23 points or more this season.

Torrie Destefano continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 5 for 9 en route to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Marton, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Penn-Trafford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Plum, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against Burrell by a score of 43-31 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Penn-Trafford pushed their record up to 17-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.6 points. As for Plum, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.

Penn-Trafford came up short against Plum when the teams last played back in December of 2017, falling 49-41. Can Penn-Trafford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
