Basketball Recap: Elise Henderson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lakeside over Hillcrest

Lakeside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. The matchup between them and the Hillcrest Trojans didn't end well, with the Lakeside Lancers falling 43-28.

Lakeside lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Elise Henderson, who posted seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Henderson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Miyah Reed, who had six points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Lakeside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Hillcrest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Lakeside has already played their next match, a 35-30 victory against Citrus Hill on the 21st. As for Hillcrest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 34-14 win against Arlington on the 21st.
