Football Game Preview: Wabasso vs. Springfield

On Friday Wabasso take on Springfield at 7:00 PM. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 48 minutes: the MaxPreps rankings predict a close match.

Wabasso found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 8-38 punch to the gut against Tracy-Milroy-Balaton last Friday. This makes it the second loss in a row for Wabasso.

Springfield had a rough outing against Murray County Central two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Springfield were able to grind out a solid victory over Adrian, winning 35-21.

Springfield's win lifted them to 1-2 while Wabasso's defeat dropped them down to 1-2. In their win, Springfield relied heavily on junior Decker Scheffler, who passed for 246 yards and 4 touchdowns. Wabasso will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
