Softball Recap: Stroud Comes Up Short

Stroud was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of Cushing. Tigers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Cushing since Tuesday.

Peyton Davis and Carlee Williams did some serious damage despite the final result: Davis went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases and three runs, while Williams went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Cami Wilson, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Stroud's loss dropped their record down to 4-22. As for Cushing, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12.

Coming up, Stroud will venture away from home to face off against Pawhuska at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cushing does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
