Soccer Recap: Ankeny Centennial Extends Winning Streak to Three

Ankeny Centennial had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 4-2 win over the Waukee Warriors. Given Ankeny Centennial's advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked first, while Waukee are ranked 77th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ankeny Centennial pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three games. As for Waukee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13-2 record this season.
