Football Recap: Manhattan E Eagles vs. Wichita County Indians
After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three contests, Manhattan E finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 60-12 loss at the hands of the Wichita County Indians. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.
Wichita County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cashton Young, who rushed for 200 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 182 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes. Young's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 144 rushing yards dating back to last season. Dylan Luna was another key player, gaining 128 total yards and four touchdowns.
Having lost for the first time this season, Manhattan E fell to 3-1. As for Wichita County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Looking ahead, Manhattan E will be playing in front of their home fans against Northland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Manhattan E will be up against Northland Christian's rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Wichita County, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Trego at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
