Soccer Game Preview: Red Bluff vs. Chico

Red Bluff is 0-10 against Chico since May of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Red Bluff Spartans will welcome the Chico Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Red Bluff's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Enterprise. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 428th, while the Hornets are ranked 869th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Taylor Perkins and Emery Plemons scored both of Red Bluff's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, Chico entered their tilt with Foothill on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They won by a goal and slipped past the Cougars 1-0.

Chico's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three matchups. As for Red Bluff, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6-1 record this season.
