Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thoreau). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Crownpoint Eagles 60-6. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Thoreau's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Irvin Tom, who rushed for 30 yards and a pair of TDs. An impressive showing, but Tom really ramped things up playing D: he picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Thoreau was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 213 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crownpoint only rushed for 95.

Thoreau didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Trevin Jim, Christopher Largo, and Noah Trickey picked up one apiece. Thoreau got some further help from Dempsey Brown: he picked up two sacks and made seven total tackles.

Thoreau's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Crownpoint, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
