Volleyball Game Preview: Weeki Wachee Hornets vs. River Ridge Royal Knights

The Weeki Wachee Hornets are taking a road trip to square off against the River Ridge Royal Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Weeki Wachee will head out to face River Ridge after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. The Hornets came up short against Mitchell, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hornets have suffered since September 18, 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-20, 25-20.

Meanwhile, River Ridge came up short against Springstead on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Royal Knights in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

River Ridge actually scored more points across those four sets (87-86), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-23, 11-25, 25-19.

River Ridge's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 14-7. As for Weeki Wachee, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 14-10.
