Soccer Game Preview: Mayfield vs. La Canada

The Mayfield Cubs will head out on the road to take on the La Canada Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Mayfield and Polytechnic, and Polytechnic kept the tradition alive. The Cubs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in December of 2025, La Canada was forced to settle for a draw on Wednesday. They and South Pasadena finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw.

Lucy Kim and Samantha Hosford scored both of La Canada's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Mayfield dropped their record down to 6-6-3 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. With that draw, La Canada's record moves to 4-5-2.
