Texas Wind had won two straight games and Jai Johnson did her part to make it three on Thursday. Texas Wind sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 28-25 win over the Westlake Academy Blacksmiths for which the team can thank Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 13 boards. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Texas Wind's points.

Texas Wind's victory bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Westlake Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.

Coming up, Texas Wind won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mercy School Institute at 9:15 a.m. on Friday. Westlake Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
