Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Bison vs. JW North Huskies

The Liberty Bison will challenge the JW North Huskies at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Liberty lost to Canyon Springs at home by a 35-18 margin. The Bison have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, in Tuesday's Canine Competition, JW North prevailed. They had just enough and edged Orange Vista out 43-40. The win was some much needed relief for the Huskies as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Liberty better keep an eye on Maya Marmolejo. She was instrumental in JW North's win, going 10 of 18 on her way to 21 points and three steals. Those 21 points gave Marmolejo a new career-high. Aliyah Washington was another key player, putting up eight points and ten rebounds.

JW North was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

JW North's record is now 5-16. As for Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.

Liberty couldn't quite finish off JW North when the teams last played on January 14th and fell 34-32. Can Liberty avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
