It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but St. Monica had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They managed a 70-65 win over the St. Anthony Saints. This was a revenge game for the Mariners: when they faced off against the Saints two weeks ago, they had to take a 65-61 defeat.

St. Anthony lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jordyn Washington, who posted 21 points. St. Anthony is 3-1 when Washington posts 20 or more points, but 10-12 otherwise. Laila Hughes was another key player, putting up 15 points.

St. Monica's victory bumped their record up to 20-8. As for St. Anthony, their loss dropped their record down to 13-13.

Coming up, St. Monica will take on Moreno Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Moreno Valley will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something St. Monica surely won't give up without a fight. St. Anthony does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
