Softball Game Preview: Centralia Panthers vs. Palmyra Panthers

Centralia will venture away from home to square off against Palmyra at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Centralia has 14 straight wins, Palmyra has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Centralia barely beat Hallsville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 7-0 victory on Tuesday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Palmyra scored the most runs they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 19-9 to Canton.

Centralia's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Palmyra, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Centralia took their victory against Palmyra in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Centralia since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
