Basketball Recap: Canoga Park Hunters vs. Reseda Regents

Canoga Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Reseda Regents and fell 61-20. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hunters this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-24 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Reseda to victory, but perhaps none more so than Olivia Rosales, who posted 27 points. Rosales' afternoon made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Zahra Numa was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Canoga Park's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Reseda, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-8.

Canoga Park and Reseda could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Canoga Park (ranked 1217th) will meet Kennedy (ranked 291st) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Reseda will square off against San Fernando at 5:30 p.m. on Friday down 472 places (881 vs. 409).
