Soccer Game Preview: East Hall vs. Gainesville

The East Hall Vikings will take on the Gainesville Red Elephants at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Hall's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Friday, East Hall didn't have quite enough to beat Jefferson and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Dragons are ranked 108th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, Gainesville was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Bearden who was credited with the victory. Bearden got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Gainesville's four.

East Hall's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Gainesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.

East Hall came out on top in a nail-biter against Gainesville when the teams last played back in February of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will East Hall repeat their success, or does Gainesville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
