Volleyball Recap: Homestead Comes Up Short

Homestead and Arrowhead squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Homestead had to settle for second. They came up short against the Warhawks, falling 3-0. The Highlanders have struggled against the Warhawks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Homestead was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-22, 25-10.

Despite the loss, Homestead saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lauren Fitzgibbon had 11 digs. Fitzgibbon is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Siena MacCudden had an outrageously good game for Arrowhead as she had 23 digs and six assists. That's the most digs MacCudden has posted since October 1st.

Homestead's defeat dropped their record down to 19-12. As for Arrowhead, they pushed their record up to 29-13 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Homestead does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Arrowhead, they will challenge Hamilton on Thursday.
