By Zack Poff Nov 6, 2024, 11:00am

Five playoff matchups featured led by St. Joseph's Prep vs. La Salle College.

The biggest high school football game this week is going down in Texas as No. 6 North Shore (Houston) closes out the regular season Friday against Summer Creek (Houston).

North Shore has dominated the all-time series, winning all seven meetings. But Summer Creek is coming in hot with four straight wins since suffering its only loss against No. 19 Atascocita (Humble). In eight wins this season, the Bulldogs have outscored opponents 439-44.

Elsewhere, St. Joseph's Prep (Philadelphia) and La Salle College (Wyndmoor, Pa.) played just over a month ago and it was one of the best games of the year. La Salle pulled out a 35-34 win in four overtimes, handing the Hawks their first in-state loss since 2021. The Explorers would love to do it again Saturday.

In Hawaii, Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele has put together a tremendous senior season and led Campbell (Ewa Beach) to a 49-43 comeback win over Kapolei (Hawaii) to advance to the OIA Open Division championship game for the first time in 27 years. The Sabers erased a 36-14 halftime deficit. Sagapolutele threw for 473 yards and six touchdowns while adding another score on the ground. Up next is Kahuku, who had an impressive 35-6 win over Mililani (Hawaii) in the other semifinal.

In California, the Southern Section Division 1 bracket was released Sunday and both opening-round games are featured in this week's slate.

Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth) hosts Servite (Anaheim) with the winner advancing to face No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana) in the quarterfinals. The other matchup features Inglewood at Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita) with the winner taking on No. 7 St. John Bosco (Bellflower) next Friday.
