Soccer Game Preview: Hobbs vs. Roswell

For the first time this season, Hobbs will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will face off against the Roswell Coyotes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hobbs is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Atrisco Heritage Academy, who was ranked third at the time (Hobbs was ranked eighth). The Eagles lost 5-1 to the Jaguars on Tuesday. Hobbs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-0.

Meanwhile, Roswell made easy work of Lovington on Tuesday and carried off a 4-1 win. The result was nothing new for Roswell, who have now won six matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Roswell is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 42 goals over those nine matches. As for Hobbs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4-1.
