It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Johnson County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Dublin Fighting Irish. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Logan Foskey looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Johnson County secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was W. Peeples, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Johnson County has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 12.5 runs this season. As for Dublin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Johnson County will host East Laurens at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dublin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Swainsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
