Soccer Recap: Orcutt Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Orcutt Academy and Kerman squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Orcutt Academy had to settle for second. They came up short against the Kerman Lions, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 429th in California, while the Lions are ranked 190th in California).

Orcutt Academy's goal came courtesy of Lucia Llerena, who's now up to ten this season.

Orcutt Academy moved to 15-6 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Kerman, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.

Orcutt Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kerman, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 2-2 win against Torres on the 21st.
