Basketball Recap: Franklin County Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Franklin County won the last time they faced Graceville, and Dre North did his part to make sure it happened again. The Franklin County Seahawks snuck past the Graceville Tigers with a 57-53 win on Saturday thanks in part to North, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 14 points. Those 14 points gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Sadiq Jones, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kamari Gilyard, who posted seven points and six rebounds. Mj Yeager was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Franklin County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points per game. As for Graceville, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Franklin County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-53 loss against North Bay Haven Academy on the 3rd. As for Graceville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-27 victory against Sneads on the 3rd.
