Softball Recap: Mountain Vista Takes a Loss

If Mountain Vista was feeling good fresh off their 18-2 takedown of Douglas County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golden Eagles fell just short of the Fort Collins Lambkins by a score of 1-0 on Friday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Golden Eagles haven't been shut out since back in September.

Shelby Chesser spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Mountain Vista's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Fort Collins, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-6-1.

Mountain Vista didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-6 win against Denver North on the 17th. As for Fort Collins, they have also already played their next game, a 7-6 defeat against Eaglecrest on the 17th.
