Softball Recap: Locust Grove Comes Up Short

Locust Grove lost against Pike County back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Wildcats came up short against the Pirates, falling 10-3. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Catee Maddox was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Locust Grove's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Pike County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-4.

Locust Grove and Pike County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Wildcats will challenge McDonough at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (186 vs. 393). Meanwhile, Pike County (ranked 57th) will meet Rutland (ranked 350th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
