There's no place like home for New Ulm, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Blue Earth Buccaneers 3-2 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since October 1, 2024.

New Ulm was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-17, 22-25, 25-21, 15-12.

Despite the loss, Blue Earth still got an impressive performance from Isabel Vargas, who had 25 digs and three assists. Vargas is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

The win got New Ulm back to even at 1-1. As for Blue Earth, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
