Basketball Recap: Chavez Comes Up Short

Chavez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a 78-42 loss at the hands of the McNair Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1169th, while the Eagles are ranked 382nd).

Anjulie Navarro continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for McNair, going 12 of 19 en route to 30 points and seven steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Navarro has scored at least a third of McNair's points. Another player making a difference was Malia Do, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals.

Chavez's defeat dropped their record down to 3-23. As for McNair, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-11 record this season.

Chavez has already played their next game (against Weston Ranch), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. McNair has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Edison.
