Soccer Recap: Echols County Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Echols County was not quite Brooks County's equal in the second half on Thursday. They came up short against the Brooks County Trojans, falling 7-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 back in February.

Aiden Brantley and Fidencio Vazquez scored both of Echols County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Echols County and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Brooks County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Echols County will challenge Berrien at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Echols County has given up an average of 4.1 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Brooks County, they will square off against Lanier County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
