Soccer Game Preview: Hurricane vs. Nitro + Official Tickets

The Hurricane Redskins will square off against the Nitro Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hurricane is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Herbert Hoover, who was ranked tenth at the time (Hurricane was ranked 11th). The Redskins' defense stepped up to hand the Huskies a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. Hurricane wouldn't have won without Peyton Scott, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Nitro entered their tilt with Woodrow Wilson on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 7-2 margin over the Flying Eagles. The result was nothing new for Nitro, who have now won nine matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Something new happened on Thursday as Kendra Steele saw her first action of the season, playing 25 minutes against Woodrow Wilson. Steele made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal and one steal A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Nitro's victory bumped their record up to 12-3-1. As for Hurricane, their win bumped their record up to 12-4-1.
